University of Wisconsin Shelter Medicine Program offers a wide range of support services to shelters, including both remote and on-site shelter consultations, outbreak assistance, and diagnostic testing.
With all of our services, our objective is to provide shelters and communities with life saving, practical, and cost effective advice that supports animal health and welfare.
UW Shelter Medicine is part of a special funding partnership that targets assistance to shelters in 7 states: Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. While our program also has a national and international focus for our assistance, and any shelter can receive help, shelters in these seven states are particularly important to us.
