University of Wisconsin Shelter Medicine Program offers the Maddie’s Shelter Medicine Course at the School of Veterinary Medicine each spring semester.
This lecture series not only discusses concepts key to animal sheltering but also helps veterinary students, shelter professionals, shelter volunteers, and members of the community reflect on current challenges and solutions for saving the lives of homeless animals. The lectures will introduce you to guest speakers who are leaders in the field of shelter medicine. The goal of the knowledge gained through the course is to raise awareness of animal shelters, animal health, and community programs to help save lives of homeless animals.
The University of Wisconsin Maddie’s Shelter Medicine Course is held each spring semester. Details about how to join us live and view recordings will be shared on our news page each year.
